Officials & Score Keeping

Two officials operate each NFL Street Unplugged field. There is a Head Referee and End Zone Judge.

The Head Referee is responsible for the general supervision of the game and has the final authority on all rulings. The Head Referee positions himself on one sideline and is responsible for setting the line of scrimmage with his foot on each play, communicating on field style points to scorers, and determining and enforcing all penalties. The Head Referee will be positioned at the line of scrimmage, and will reposition along the side of the field as soon at every successful completion, never before.

The End Zone Judge positions himself on the same side of the field as the Head Referee, at the goal line. His main responsibilities are to communicate all style points completed in the end zone and to determine and enforce all end zone infractions.

Both referees will be provided a wristband which includes a list of the style points, as well as a quick reference of penalties to use throughout the games.

The Field Scorer is responsible for recording all style points communicated from the referees. He/she will be responsible for calculating on-field game point totals, as well as PSP scores, resetting the video game after every game, and ensuring the field is equipped with 3 footballs per field. As well, the Field Scorer will direct participating teams to their next scheduled field.
